Remembering Fr. Dan Hurley, ofm
Fr. Dan Hurley, ofm, passed away on March 13, 2010, at the age of 90. “Hurls” was with us from the beginning when he accepted Dan Riley’s invitation to be part of the early team that began the Mountain. He retired from a long teaching career in June 1990, most of those years spent at St. Bonaventure University, from where he graduated in 1940.
He resided at the Mountain as a mentor to many, served as an invaluable connection to St. Bonaventure since he knew so many of the alumni. Dan was a friar for 68 years.
Here’s a video taken in the late 1990s of Hurls talking about his Mountain experiences:
DAN HURLEY LEGACY SOCIETY
As we have been blessed with offers to include the Mountain in our friends’ estate plans, we have created a special society in honor of our beloved co-founder.
