Olean Public Library Presentation and Reflection with Dan Riley, ofm
January 26, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Join Fr. Dan for an evening presentation and reflection with time for conversation around his newly published book called Franciscan Lectio: Reading the World Through the Living Word.
Come and take the opportunity to congratulate Fr. Dan on his long-awaited debut as a published author.
Franciscan Lectio is for all those who are on a spiritual journey who long to see the world more beautifully and deeply and become more attentive and present. In Franciscan Lectio, Fr. Dan comes alongside us in our own encounters with lectio and inspires our spiritual imagination through story, art, poetry, nature, Franciscan mysticism and Scripture — helping us to see that all of life is unitive and sacred.
Fr. Dan takes us on a journey with him as he became a friar and ministered at St. Bonaventure University for many years, while also founding Mt. Irenaeus. Sharing his own experiences and the Franciscan heritage, he opens for us a journey influenced by, among others, Thomas Merton, St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare of Assisi who offer us a practice of “gazing, considering, contemplating and acting” – living the Good News today filled with a sense of beauty and hope.
Presentation and reception will take place on January 26 at 6:30 pm at
Olean Public Library
Corner of 2nd and Laurens St.
Olean, NY
After the presentation and reflection, Fr. Dan will have first-edition books to purchase if you’d like one and he is happy to sign your copy if you bring it along!
While an RSVP is not strictly necessary, please let us know you are coming so that we can arrange for enough seating.
