SUMMARY:I Leave Peaceprints: The Story of Sr. Karen Klimczak\, SSJ presented by Sr. Jean Klimczak\, SSJ
DESCRIPTION:I Leave Peaceprints:  The Story of Sister Karen Klimczak\, SSJ\nYou are invited to join us at the Mountain on Sunday\, May 31 for a very special presentation by Sr. Jean Klimczak\, the biological sister of the founder of Peaceprints\, Sr. Karen Klimczak. Sr. Jean will be speaking about the process of Karen’s conversion to non-violence. \nThis year marked the 20th anniversary of the death of Sr. Karen Klimczak. \nOn the website of Peaceprints Inc. they write:\n…imagined by our founder Sr. Karen Klimczak as a commitment to spreading peace\, the “I Leave Peaceprints” lawn doves have come to symbolize hope and healing in our community. By displaying the dove\, our community demonstrates its commitment to acting with intentional nonviolence- not simply the absence of physical violence\, but a condemnation of the divisions we create when we fail to listen\, respect\, or empathize with others who differ from us in their race\, gender\, sexual orientation\, or beliefs. \nWe encourage you to be with us at the Mountain on May 31\, but we will also be livestreaming this event on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/mtirenaeuswww.facebook.com/mtirenaeus) if you are not able to join us physically. \nWhile registration for joining us in person is not required\, it will help us have enough seating available.  Please use the link below to register if you will join us.

SUMMARY:Summer Adult Retreat Opportunity - Register Now\, Space is Limited!
DESCRIPTION:As you make your summer plans\, please prayerfully consider joining us for our annual summer adult retreat weekends hosted by the Council for Spirit and Life – a time when we create a space at the Mountain where you might slow down\, spend time on the land and share a meal\, stories and prayer with others.  This is a time for reflection and renewal through a Mountain experience. These retreats also provide an opportunity halfway through the year to step back\, reflect and gain a sense of how we are all walking through the world. \nWe offer the same retreat experience on two different weekends. \nThis year\, our retreat weekends will be offered on: \nJune 26-28 OR July 24-26 \nMore information about our summer retreats will be made available in the coming months. \nSpace is limited. Please reach out to Karen Pulaski at kpulaski5204@aol.com to register or with any questions you might have! We look forward to seeing you – peace and all good!

SUMMARY:SBU Orientation Overnight
DESCRIPTION:Mt. Irenaeus has welcomed students since the 1980’s to take a step back\, breathe deeply\, and refocus during the school year. We have almost 400 acres of land that includes hiking trails\, a sledding hill\, swimming pond\, cabins\, a garden\, and more. The Orientation Overnight will give you time to explore the property\, meet the community who lives there\, spend time with other students\, and learn more about how you can get involved in service both on and off campus during your time at Bona’s. \nHere’s what you need to know: \n\nOn Sunday\, July 19 meet at SBU at 9:45a.m. at the McGinley-Carney Center for Franciscan ministry (also known as University Ministries).\nYour parents can drop you off and then check into their hotel/head home before your orientation session begins on Monday. A list of local hotels is here towards the bottom of the page.\nWe will leave campus at 10:00a.m. and drive you to the Mountain\, where we will take part in our community Sunday service at 11:00a.m. There is a community brunch afterwards that always has lots of good food!\nYou’ll spend the rest of the day with other students\, the Mountain and UMin staff. We’ll end the day with a cookout\, time in our chapel\, and a bonfire with s’mores if the weather is good!\nAfter the overnight\, we will eat breakfast and bring you back to campus for your orientation session. You will arrive in time for check-in and registration.\n\nHere’s what to bring: \n\nClothing for an overnight stay\, plus clothing to wear to your orientation session\nPersonal items and toiletries\, any medications\, etc.\nClothes and close-toed shoes that you can wear outside while exploring or if we take a hike\nBathing suit and sunscreen if you want to jump in the pond\nWe provide all of the linens (towels\, sheets\, pillows\, blankets)
