Secular Franciscans

The St. Irenaeus Secular Franciscan Order fraternity was officially established at Mt. Irenaeus on Oct. 15, 2006. The Secular Franciscan Order is a recognized Order in the Catholic Church composed of lay people, both married and single, who feel called to profess their faith by committing to follow the Gospel life in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi. There are currently 10 professed members. The officers of the fraternity are:

  • Don Watkins, minister
  • Betty Hooker, vice minister
  • Michelle Marcellin, treasurer
  • Suzanne English, secretary

Lou McCormick, ofm, is spiritual assistant to the fraternity. The St. Irenaeus SFO fraternity meets regularly the last Sunday of each month at the Mountain from 1:15 to 3:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend and observe. For further information call Fr.
